How is my Austin 7 already?? I still remember bringing him to nursing school with me when he was only days old after I had him by cesarean. With only three weeks of school left before summer break, I still had finals and a huge group project to finish so I was back in class after 4 days of having him! He was so tiny in my arms and so sweet and cuddly. He would get passed around in class among my classmates and I even remember a few of my professors holding him as they lectured our class.
Austin brought my motivation level to the highest it had ever been and because of him I was able to prove to myself that I truly can do anything. Of course, I wouldn't have been able to do it without the love and support of my family who not only cared for me while I was tired and nauseous during pregnancy, but the countless nights where I ran on such little sleep because I was up working on homework or studying for the NCLEX while also beginning my journey as a new mom. And of course, I can't forget to mention the most amazing nursing cohort that ever lived. They helped me get through the challenges of nursing school and even pulled off having a baby shower for me in the midst of major deadlines in school.
Man, those were the days and I wouldn't change any of it for the world. Thank you to everyone who was such a huge support to me and my baby boy! Austin will always be my reminder that anything is possible and that hard work always pays off. He amazes me every day with the person he is and is becoming. The future has big plans for him and I'll always be his #1 fan. I love you Bachoy!
